Things are going well I guess. I am still looking for work. The job market is so tight right now. I am working on building some consulting work, as a plan B. It is hard for me and Marilyn right now with the uncertainty of our future. I am 1/2 way through my unemployment and not even had an interview. This is very discouraging. I am good at what I do. I am looking into getting more training. This will make me more marketable.
My mental health, right now is shakey. I can't help fighting off depression. Only because I am aware of it, is why I am not in it.
Last week was a nice field trip with depression. I allowed myself to feel
some so I am not denying it. It is ok, to give into your feelings sometimes to explore them. This will help you in the long run because you are not in denial. Depression is something that can eat at you until it takes over. By allowing myself to feel it and acknowledge it, I can then more my actions to correct and pull myself out.
The magazine this month is doing great. We are playing with a different format. I am working on hiring a marketing manager.
It will help to progression of the magazine to national exposure.
I am looking forward to October and the Wedding of my son Chris.
It should be nice. I am very proud of him and I like Suzi. _________________ Martin D. White

hi martin,
i feel for you. my dad was forced into taking a early riterment with severence pay or get laid off with nothing. how unfortunate since he was a good worker. one of my good childhood friends husband is losing his job soon. i prayed for them and you very adamently. you have stuck by me even though i am disabled and i appreciate that so much.
the job market looks bleak.
i hope the magazine takes of. some national exposure for us amtuer writings would help us all even you the great author martin. in a few months i will probably buy you book. do you sell it in paper back or is all the copies in hard print. just curious. it is easier for me to read paper back bbecause it is hard for me to hold heavier items.

Good to hear from you Larsen. I have been very sad lately about the death of Michael Jackson. I am 48, he was just a couple years older than me. He was a great influence in my life at one time. I know he has had some trouble in the past. I choose not to believe the things that they said happened during the trials. I want to remember him for the person he was. He is and always be the king of pop... _________________ Martin D. White

Wow, just noticed how long it has been since I wrote to my journal.
Shame on me, not but time and time for nothingit seems like. I have been busy with the magazine and radio show and the new book.
I work 2 days a week volunteering at the hospital. During the last several months we have been working on this forum, to get it up to date and fixing the registration page problem. We are excited to get this back up and running so people can register.
This forum has been around for many years. It has been times of many and few postings. I would like to see it take off again. Most of use members check it from time to time but not very much posting going on. With all the writing I have been doing, really don't write poetry much anymore.
The magazine is doing well. We are in the middle of a fund drive to get out $ 800.00 Bar code. This will allow us to sell on Amazon and other meduims.
Personally wise, my attitude is doing ok. I just had another birthday.
49 now. We went to the beach and to Elizabeths pizza. It was fun.
I am dealing with a mild to moderate depression about the job market.
It is draining energy from me. I spend to much time on the couch. _________________ Martin D. White

It has been a long while since I wrote to my journal though it was time.
2009 has been an interesting year for me. I have had many successes and many failures. Sucesses would be the magazine. We have grown very much. We all have a magazine to be proud of. Failures for 2009 is my job status. I have applied to many jobs without success. While I know my stuff, I am having trouble getting interviews because of my education status. I am 49, but looking into going back to college. I need to work on getting a degree. To me it is a shame that living the life that I do, eating, sleeping working computers for 20+ years is not enough to get me into the door of an employer.
Some of my goals for 2010, is to get this forum back to active posting.
This forum is old. We have been around for many years now. This last year the posting is way down. It will be nice to see it get back to what it was. I know many of the established regulars come back to check from time to time.
Another goal for 2010 is to finish my 3rd book. It has been 2 years since I put out a new book and I need to keep my authors career going.
Goal #3 is to work on the path to get the magazine to main stream.
We have a financial goal of $ 800.00 to get a Bar code. This is the first important step in gettting us to main stream.
Goal #4 Work on either getting a job or getting back into college.
Goal #5 Getting Healther, In my unemployment I have become quite a couch potato. I need to improve my health this year. I am not getting any younger. lol.... _________________ Martin D. White
